Systems Atlanta, Inc. Awarded Sub-Contract in Support of FAA E-IDS Program

KENNESAW, Ga. (Aug. 18, 2020) Systems Atlanta, Inc. (SAI), a small-business Information Display System (IDS) industry leader, was awarded a sub-contract by Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a FORTUNE® 500 science and technology leader, for the design and development of a common National Airspace System (NAS) enterprise solution that will replace five (5) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) legacy IDS’s. The sub-contract is in direct support of the FAA’s recently awarded contract to Leidos as the prime contractor of Enterprise-Information Display System (E-IDS). SAI’s work will be performed in Kennesaw, Ga.

The FAA’s E-IDS will provide an enterprise-level platform that replaces multiple types of IDS’s in the NAS — including En Route, Terminal, Traffic Flow, and Offshore domains — with a common hardware and software platform. The current display systems are present at over 400 facilities and involve over 4,000 workstations throughout the NAS. A segmented replacement of these systems is planned to occur over the course of several years.

As a part of the E-IDS team, SAI will provide subject matter experts and engineering support to Leidos, the prime contractor, to meet the objectives and requirements set forth by the FAA.

“For over 35 years, SAI has had the privilege of supporting various FAA projects throughout the NAS,” said Darrin Luedke, SAI Chief Operating Officer. “To be involved in the E-IDS program is extremely exciting for all of us here at SAI. We are anxious to hit the ground running to meet the needs of the FAA.”
