KENNESAW, Ga. (Oct. 18, 2020) – Systems Atlanta, Inc. (SAI), a small-business Information Display System (IDS) industry leader, was awarded a sub-contract by SimpleSense a tech start-up company that delivers critical response technology to government, commercial, and Department of Defense (DoD) facilities. The sub-contract is in direct support of the AFWERX innovation team’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program that enables the Air Force to develop and adopt commercially viable innovations as integrated program components or operationally effective commercial off-the-shelf solutions while providing a competitive edge to the U.S. entrepreneur and technology ecosystem. SAI’s work will be performed in Kennesaw, Ga.
SimpleSense, as the effort’s Prime contractor, has assembled a top-notch team of companies that working together will propel Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s (WPAFB) cross-platform communication ability into the future at a rapid pace. As a part of this dynamic team to improve emergency communications, SAI will prototype the ability to ingest, create, and disseminate critical data via a web messaging client into and out of existing SAI products such as the Information Display System – Command and Control (IDS-C²) solution in use at WPAFB.
“As an Air Force retiree, I am extremely proud to be able to participate on this project at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base,” said Darrin Luedke, SAI Chief Operating Officer. “From our perspective, Wright-Pat has always been an innovator of technology as they were one of the first adaptors of our IDS5 software within the Base Operations and Air Traffic Control facilities. They actually had our IDS5 up and running well before the Air Force Airfield Automation System (AFAS) program of record came to be the standard for the airfield.”
