The Beginning

Systems Atlanta, Inc. (SAI) was founded in 1976, as a partnership of four college professors, under the name "Educational Data Services." The company initially provided educational test scoring and statistical services. After incorporation, the name was changed to EDS Computer Systems, Inc., and the company began to supply computer systems, as well as testing services.
The company eventually changed its name to Systems Atlanta, Inc., with one of the original four founding partners, Charley G. Dobson, serving on its Board of Directors until his passing in November of 2020.

World Wide Industry Leader

During the 1980s, SAI's Information Display Systems (IDS) became a major product focus, beginning with the award of a contract by the FAA Southern Region for six IDS networks. Growth in the design and development of IDS solutions progressed through several product generations and resulted in widespread deployment in the United States and across the globe. Today, SAI's IDS5 stands as the worldwide industry leader in integrated information display and dissemination. We're not stopping there.

Decades of Experience

SAI has three decades of experience with information collection, dissemination, and display technology. We have experience designing products flexible enough to meet the information needs for a variety of customers across multiple environments. Our IDS systems are operational in civilian, government, and military Air Traffic Control (ATC), Airfield Management (AM), Airport/Airline Operations Centers (AOC), Security Forces (SF), Emergency Operations Centers (EOC), Ramp Controls, Emergency Dispatch, and Airport Communications Centers (ACC) around the world.
