IDS4 Maintenance

The IDS4 System Maintenance Training Course provides maintenance personnel with the skills and knowledge necessary to maintain an IDS4 network system. Students learn how to identify, troubleshoot, and correct problems on IDS4 networks and workstations.
The training provides maintainers with hands-on instruction on all IDS4 functions and capabilities, such as operator capabilities. Understanding IDS4 software from the end user’s perspective aids maintainers in identifying real or perceived problems. Other training topics include:

  • Identifying and troubleshooting problems on IDS4 and External Database Interface (EDI) and System Interface Unit (SIU) networks and workstations
  • Corrective actions necessary to restore IDS4 to operational status
  • Replacing IDS4 workstations with on-line and off-line spare workstations
  • Installing IDS4 software
  • Backup and restoration
  • IDS4 database procedures
  • IDS4 network connectivity and hardware components
  • EDI network connectivity and hardware components
The Maintenance Training Course is conducted by an experienced Systems Atlanta instructor. The course is 2 days. For sites with an EDI or SIU system, the course is 3 days.

Lab workstations and simulators provide students with hands-on experience working with IDS4 software and external interfaces.

Each student is provided with:
  • IDS4 Maintenance Course Student Guide
  • Site-specific IDS4 and EDI / SIU network diagrams
  • Each site is provided with 2 full copies of IDS4 technical manuals.
